Hi, I haven't been using this board in a while. Working on a new Kouryou Kai website. If you'd like to know more, just email me at kiru4@yahoo.com or text me at 607-527-5115. And if you're local, consider joining my gym for MMA or BJJ. I also teach the Shinobi arts upon request. If you choose that, prepare to have your balance tested constantly. Be well!

The Kouryou Kai has its own system that was developed based on the skills and training of every member. It is always evolving, so yes, we do create new methods. Each initial member has a different background. My own is rather varied. I began with Ninjutsu from a personal teacher (a guy knew it and taught me... nothing huge), which then lead me into other styles, such as Judo, Karate, and so forth. These days I focus entirely on our own system. Nothing has ever worked better for me.
As for your health issues, I am sorry to hear about your dilemma. That is one area we stand above most. We have ways and are always developing new ways to help those with issues that would normally keep them from training. In my early days of teaching I ran into a problem when a very diligent student had horrible asthma. This brought about issues because of the emphasis we have on overall conditioning. So we used old methods to help breathing issues, while carefully adapting new methods. In the end, his asthma began to fade, at least enough for him to train without so much trouble. He wasn't the first case of this, however. I had personally ran into this before. My own brother had a much lighter asthma issue. He was able to defeat it completely in a couple months of training.
If you need any advise on getting back into shape, let me know. That's a specialty of mine. Everything from the diet to the exercise.

Here is a link to make dit ja jow that I found on the 'net. I personally use this, very helpful. You didn't actually leave a link. No worries, though. We have our own Jow recipes and usually make it by the gallons. Very effective stuff. I've tried the stuff from catalogs before. Smells like rubbing alcohol and doesn't do as much.

Was in the club in the mid-90s. Tournaments were within the club, and another class which was also part of the club would join us. Kiru is a nic-name.

In this area we can discuss the Kouryou Kai in general. This includes members sharing experiences, questions about what it's like to be a member, and how one may go about joining.

After adding the page on serious fighting (in the Combat section), I thought I should add this board to the forum for everyone to discuss some examples of their own experiences with serious fighting.
Also, I invite everyone to check out the new page in the combat section, titled: "A Discussion on Serious Fights". It has videos at the bottom of the page that show real fights caught on tape from all over the country.

Fighting is something we usually have to deal with in some for or another. Not always physical. Not always mental. Sometimes spiritual. We face the horrors of the world only to find that our worst enemy lies within.
With that said, here's where we can discuss our physical combat ideas. I hope to even hear examples of the techniques in use.

It's always nice to get new ideas on training methods. One thing I've learned through my experiences is that there's always more to be learned. It always seemed that just as I had thought I'd learned some ultimate training exercise, I learn in another art another method that's even better. So never think that all the best stuff can be found in one art alone. I can't wait to hear from everyone.

Ya gotta actually go through the 2nd to get to the 3rd, Yumiko. I can teach your sis anytime, but I'm waiting for her to make that move. She's gotta show the initiative to make the plans.

This shall be our new message board. Seems like a good place to get a message board from, so I hope everyone likes this one. And I do hope that people can come here and give me some ideas on what they'd like to see on the new site. Working on it is taking some time, since I don't have a whole lot of time to do it like I used to, so please bear with me. But I will do what I can.
Shortly, I should be getting a few pics for the site, too.
